Home / My First Visit

What Can I Expect From My First Visit?

You will need to allow about an hour for your initial Consultation & Examination.  This will involve:

- Discussing your present problem and medical history, and

-
A full orthopedic, neurological, and posture examination - where we check your joints, nerves, and muscles to see what exactly is causing the problem

- Based on the findings, a diagnosis will be formulated, and we will explain to you what's causing the problem using models and pictures. Your chiropractor will explain everything to you in detail - what’s causing your symptoms, what can be done about it, and an estimate of how much treatment may be required to get you feeling better, and on the road to recovery.

- Your tailored treatment plan will include hands-on chiropractic adjustments (gentle manipulation), to improve joint function and relieve pain.  Your treatment may also include deep-tissue / sports massage (if relevant to your case) to relieve muscle spasm. We will also give you home exercises, posture, lifestyle, and dietary advice.   This will further help in getting you better, keeping you well, and avoid future relapses.

-
Chiropractic works by identifying the underlying cause of your pain, and correcting it.  In most cases, we can get started with treatment (the first set of adjustments) right away.

Treatment

Chiropractic is suitable for a range of people, from young teenagers to the elderly, office workers, "couch potatoes", sports enthusiasts, and everyone in between.  Thus, treatment is modified accordingly to your needs.

In some cases, further investigations (such as X-rays, MRIs or blood tests) are required for a differential diagnosis or to rule out pathology.  Should that apply to your case, don't worry, we'll arrange them for you.  We have access to
X-rays / MRI at very competitive prices locally.  Your chiropractor will then view and discuss the X-ray / MRI results fully with you, and determine the most appropriate treatment plan for you based on the findings.

Please note that when the chiropractor has made a diagnosis he or she will decide whether the condition is suitable for chiropractic treatment.  If you require other medical or multidisciplinary treatment, or if Chiropractic is not the best option for you, we will inform you and help you choose the best way forward.  Your chiropractor will always tell you if he or she can not help you, and refer you to the relevant specialist.

On subsequent visits, treatment usually takes 15 - 30 minutes.  How much treatment you need depends on numerous factors such as the nature of your problem, how long you’ve had it, how severe it is, how your body responds, and how much of the advice given you take on board!

We have the expertise to offer a wide variety of solutions and a fresh approach to tackle both acute and chronic problems.

So, don't put up with pain anymore! Give us a call and find out what chiropractic can do for you.
