Initial Consultation & Examination (1hour) - £20 [Special Limited Time Offer - Quote Ref 102]
Your chiropractor will start by taking a case history to gain an overview of your current problem, previous medical history and general health. Then a very thorough physical examination will be done, to check your posture, bones, joints, muscles and nerves to find out what is causing the problem. You will be provided with a gown to wear during the examination.
The aim of the initial consultation is to find out the cause of your problem, and whether you are a good candidate for chiropractic treatment.
If you are a good candidate for chiropractic treatment, your chiropractor will give you a diagnosis, and a specific treatment plan to get you on your road to recovery. Your chiropractor will also outline what you can expect from treatment.
If after the examination we do not think your condition is suitable for chiropractic treatment, we will let you know and refer you to the relevant specialist. If your case requires an X-ray or MRI, we will sort those out for you at this stage.
Your chiropractor will be happy to answer any questions you have at this stage.

Frequency and duration of treatment programmes will vary depending on your specific complaint, and follow clinical guidelines. Typically, for a chronic complaint, a treatment programme will consist of three phases:
Phase 1 : Initial intensive care - pain relief and postural stability
Phase 2 : Rehabilitative care - further healing and strengthening of surrounding soft tissues (ligaments & muscles)
Phase 3 : Maintenance care - prevention of recurrences and optimisation of general well being & health
You will be given specific rehab exercises to do at home to assist your recovery.

Acute care
Where the main aim is to give relief from pain, stiffness and inflammation.
You will be advised on what to do to reduce inflammation. Initially, some patients may experience a bit of discomfort after treatment. This is not from the treatment itself, but from the way your body is reacting to its new way of moving. It is a bit like the soreness you may get if you exercise after a long break of not doing much. When you start to improve we go on to the next stage - rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation
Where the main aim is the restore strength to the muscles & ligaments and maintain mobility in the joints.
You will be treated less frequently and you will be given home exercises, posture & dietary advice to help you improve further.

Maintenance care
Where the main aim is to maintain your improved function and mobility and to keep you pain free.
This is done mainly by following the chiropractors advice. If you have had a long term condition we may recommend periodic check ups. Any changes in your muscles and joints can then be detected and corrected before you start to experience pain and disability again

Children under age 16 - ½ price (approx)
Chiropractors can diagnose and treat musculo-skeletal conditions in younger patients, which typically happen from sport injuries, traumas, falls, accidents, and poor posture. Treatment prices are approx 50% for children under the age of 16. Any patient under the age of 16 needs to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Xrays / MRI
X-rays / MRI are not required for every patient. Should the outcome of your examination indicate you need one, we will arrange these for you. We have access to X-rays / MRI at very competitive prices locally.
Your chiropractor will then view and discuss the X-ray / MRI with you, and determine the most appropriate treatment plan for you based on the findings.
Rehabilitation
Your chiropractor will give you homework consisting of specific home exercises (stretches, strengthening, posture correction etc), that will help in your recovery and keep you well.
Alternatively, you could take advantage of the facilities at your local gym, and your chiropractor will advise you on what exercises and classes will best assist your recovery.
Your chiropractor will monitor your case as your body adapts to the changes, and make further recommendations accordingly.
